An Accredited  Member of the ISA (International Society of Appraisers), Steve Turner works with individuals, estate lawyers, accountants, financial institutions, insurance companies and museums to determine valuations of personal property.  As a Personal Property Specialist, he is qualified to appraise a diverse range of personal property.  His expertise includes fine art, antiques, Asian art, decorative arts, furniture, silver and collectibles.  He also consults and works with other industry experts and professionals to provide the highest level of expertise to his clients. 

Turner adheres to the professional ethics and standards of the Appraisal Foundation's Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).

APPRAISER

Turner has been an auctioneer for leading auction houses on the West Coast, including Butterfields (now Bonhams & Butterfields), Harvey Clar, Rabin Worldwide, Hambrooks (all in California), and Lunds (in Victoria, British Columbia).  He is also a frequent auctioneer for Bay Area charity events. 

AUCTIONEER

A popular guest speaker, Turner has appeared at many seminars, workshops, appraisal fairs and other special events to discuss various aspects of collecting, antiques and fine arts.  These include Butterfields, the Harvard Club, the Commonwealth Club, the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, the Learning Annex, the Dames of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the American Revolution, numerous appraisal fairs and others.  He also taught a community education course on antiques and collecting at Malaspina University in British Columbia.

Turner also works with the legal profession as an Expert Witness on matters pertaining to fine art, antiques and the auction industry.

COLLECTION ADVISOR

Turner advises clients and helps arrange the  disposition of items going to auction.  Working on clients’ behalf with the world’s leading auction houses, such as Sotheby’s, Bonhams and Christie’s, he assists with contracts, reserves, commissions, expenses and marketing to develop a strong program and maximize the return on the sale of assets for the client.

For over 15 years, Turner has advised buyers and sellers who wish to purchase or sell their valuables, enhance their collections or pursue specific areas of opportunity and interest.
